Includes a radial kit of PVC coated copper wire one radial per band.
Due to the shortened design of the antenna the usable bandwith can be limited, a tuner might be required. Keep up the good work, Diamond. On some bands a simple tuner is required, the built-in tuners of many rigs are usually sufficient.

Not in stockback in 25 days. G4ILOJan 18, Appreciate the feedback and I will check out the Hustler. That’s good, because the one criticism I was going to make of the ‘5 is that the bandwidth is pretty small on 80 and it doesn’t work that well anyway. Expensive but that has no place a great option much better than vertical or wire antennas dummy load.

Way better than a MFJ loop on the very same location. Thoughts or past experience is appreciated. Tuned it with a Rig Expert AA, and was on the air in less than an hour after I began setting it up.
Excellent explanations about antenna radial systems are provided by some manufacturers, for example by SteppIR and Bencher english text:. I assembled the antenna, just as it was taken down leaving all the radials as they were and a quick tune around showed no difference to the tune from 2. If I cp5hs this to do over again, I would definitely try a Dipole first. If you have any questions, problems, or suggestions about Reviews, please email your Reviews Manager. Uses PVC coated braided copper wire 1. Already have many European contacts in the log including 40m.
I bought this and mounted it on the roof of our single floor, flat roof, concrete box house on base. Includes solder lugs on one end for easy connection to ground post.
The radiator is grounded, thus preventing static discharge. So xp-5hs would be worth getting some stuff to try to prevent that, when you assemble it. Weight only 4kg, transport length only 1. The resonance frequencies are adjusted for each band separately except 10 and 12m, which influence each other diammond and might require a tuner. I’m not sure what the difference between the ‘5 and the ‘5H is but it appears the H only covers and can handle higher power.
A small antenna for radio amateurs with space restrictions. One item I did not see mention was what hight should this be mounted to. So nice and stable and it did a great job for the day, lots of band activity and little band noise due to a good location away from electrical noise sources, ADSL etc.
Like any such antenna it requires a good counterpoise radials, conducting surface. I will look into the R G4ILOJan 22, K6FIJan 25, The radials should be installed so that they do cp-55hs touch the ground, nor the roof nor any other obstacle.
If the vertical antenna should be installed on the ground other radials are required at least as long as the antenna is high, better longer, as many as possible, not less than Customer specific antennas telescope antennas etc.
Usual high quality finish and easy mounting, as known by Dimond products. Total height only 4. Multiband vertical antenna for 1. The early quality control issues were put to bed and the antenna was taken down in April and has remained in its box until it was pressed into action for a Bromley and District Amateur Radio Society Foundation Course operating practice and demonstration.

G0GQKJan 24, The antenna can be installed anywhere, either on the rooftop, on the trailer hook or on a camper car during vacations. The antenna does not require radials, the radiator is grounded. Both signal reports were diamonnd above the noise level, so performance isn’t spectacular, especially since I’m only running watts.
With more radials the efficiency can be improved further as with an GP. Diamond CP5H any thoughts?
